Christmas 2016

I made the magnolia wreath

Cost
Wire Frame $4.00
White and Red floral $2.00
Dryed Orange $0.50
Feathers $3.27
Magnolia Leaves Free
TOTAL : $9.77

Cone $3.00
Hot Glue $1.00
Pinecones FREE

If I had it to do over again, would most likely just buy one. It turned out beautifully but it took about 4 hours and I burnt all my fingertips with all the hot glue.

The acorn ball only cost me $1.00 for the clear ornament ball. This project did not take nearly as long as the pinecone tree. I like the red kidney beans in the candle holder.

I will most likely always put up my coastal/rustic Christmas Tree every year somewhere in my house. I have such fond memories of picking all the large shells for the tree with my brother and drilling holes in them with my daughter. I did add pinecones and cattails at the top this year.

I absolutely love the plain brown wrapping paper. I found a pair of mens black and white plaid swim trunks and used the fabric for this present and the deer pillow. I also like the black paint decorative touches on the corners.

My daughter did a wonderful jobs with some leftover wood and paint.
This project really only cost me about $2.00 in new screws.

Wedding Bell Ringing

I got married this weekend and wanted to share some of the decorations.
I was not sure about a Christmas Wedding but I highly recommend it.

This turned out so much better than I anticipated. I bought a $25 Christmas tree from Walmart and cut branches from it, added Baby's Breath, roses, Dollar Tree candles, Dollar Tree foam ring, Dollar Tree Plastic Platter, magnolia leaves, and some pine cones. Each center piece cost $13.

Dollar Tree Gold Chargers and Dollar Tree White and Gold plates.
Cheap can still be classy.

This is a photo of the arrangement without the roses.

Back At It

I have been doing graphic design work for various companies off and on for over 10 years. I have finally gone back to school to get the degree to go with it. Currently taking an Art class. This is one of the assignments I have done for the class. I wish I could say this was a thrifty free artwork for my house but the art supplies for this class were over $100.00 but it will all be worth it when I'm done.

Best Find This Year

I have left my local thrift store empty handed for about two months now.

Persistance paid off tho.

Today score, this fine gem.

$1.00.

Shut Up! Yes, really $1.00!!
I know you can see it too, a coat of white spray paint.
The Dr. Pepper bottle is just to show it's size.
And now......

New Buffet

I've wanted a buffet for my dining room for over a year now.
But didn't quite have buffet monies.

My neighbor threw out this record player console.
So guess who gutted it and has a new buffet. ME!

I couldn't believe gutting it would make it
at least 100 pounds lighter.
I still have to find some wood to make doors
and I want to paint it a blue/grayish color.
More to follow on this project.

Well it's done...

It just so happened that the reason I had the primer paint handy,
was because it was nice enough weather to finally paint this....

All I need for this is some cute pillows.

Halloween Wreath 2011

My friend Connie made a really awesome and kooky wreath.
She is so creative.

More Fall to soon follow......
